Mother Earth Monday: Cruising Into Oblivion

Growing up on the sailboat Sahai I watched in sorrow as the environment was destroyed before my eyes. Vibrant reefs packed with bright, darting fish and animals of all varieties became dead zones by the time I went to college. Now a cruise ship merrily spews dirty crap through the once-mythical Northwest Passage. Dark pollution heats and melts ice, revealing even more water and heat. So I fear that just like “The Carnival” went on as the jungles and coral reefs of the Caribbean were annihilated, so too will the party cruise merrily into oblivion.
