Worldwide Wednesday: Sand Wars

Who knew sand was such a valuable resource?  The documentary Sand Wars says the demand for the resource is such that the illegal extraction and commerce of sand is a worldwide problem. Singapore is stealing sand from neighboring states, for example.  People talk of the “end of oil, but what about the “end of sand?”
